Educator

In addition to my creative work, I am a passionate educator. I have taught in a number of different sectors and contexts. It is my belief that everyone can enjoy and participate in music beyond being just a spectator.

I have taught piano, composition, music theory, and music history privately since 2011, and have had a number of students successfully achieve top marks in a variety of exam boards.

Since 2017, I have been actively involved in teaching in Universities, teaching composition at the University of Birmingham, experimental music, music theory, and gamelan, at Wesleyan University, and survey courses on Global and Western Art musics at the University of New Haven.

I have led a number of Gamelan workshops through the Center for Arts at Wesleyan University, teaching Grade 4 students Javanese Gamelan, as well as helping teach Laurie Anderson!

My rates are competitive, as I want to make music education as egalitarian as possible. Please reach out to me through the Contact page if you would like to find out more.

Currently I teach the following:

Music Theory
Music Composition
Piano

The first 30 minutes are free.

For the foreseeable future, all teaching will be remote. I can take students from all over the world, but my localities are the USA, and UK.
