In addition to my creative work, I am a passionate educator. I have taught in a number of different sectors and contexts. It is my belief that everyone can enjoy and participate in music beyond being just a spectator.
I have taught piano, composition, music theory, and music history privately since 2011, and have had a number of students successfully achieve top marks in a variety of exam boards.
Since 2017, I have been actively involved in teaching in Universities, teaching composition at the University of Birmingham, Experimental Music, and music theory, at Wesleyan University, and in my current job at the University of New Haven, where I am an Adjunct Instructor in Music.
I have led a number of Gamelan workshops through the Center for Arts at Wesleyan University, teaching Grade 4 students Javanese Gamelan, as well as helping teach Laurie Anderson!
If you would like my services as a music educator, I offer a highly individualised curriculum devised just for your needs! Whether you want to spend time focusing on a certain kind of music, or whether you wish to focus on a particular technique, or whether you want to tackle that grade that you have been thinking about for a while, I can find a way to help you achieve that goal!
My rates are competitive, as I want to make music education as egalitarian as possible. Please reach out to me through the Contact page if you would like to find out more.
Currently I teach the following:
The first 30 minutes are free.
For the foreseeable future, all teaching will be remote. I can take students from all over the world, but my localities are the USA, and UK.
